What could we do together with a fresh start? Some talk about a hard reset caused by a major collapse or a significant disaster. Others think about revolution or technological paradigm shifts. Many paths may lead to a potential for some fruitful results, yet can we imagine within them causes there for uncertainty and unknown risks.
A fresh start may be essential for us. The cultural and psychological bounds that keep us in dissatisfying cycles, could we select a different path in a better direction by mastery and will? By heart and affection for those we have lived besides, we hope for new reasons to celebrate life and the world together. For strangers from distant places and from cultures we respectfully acknowledge that we don’t know well, we see many causes to move towards a better way for our shared day today and a superior future expanded with new potential and fresh dreams.
A fresh start is needed in at least some areas of our world. The institutions and structures that have enabled certain scandals to exist and endure, many have prayed for a miracle to see us find a day that is free of them. How can we find that new day? Can we choose it, without revolution or disaster? By earnest intentions and with the application of our knowledge, can we move in that direction with mastery and in peace?
A fresh start is a promise we find in scripture and in our cultural dreams. A new era of dreaming would have to be free of the old structures, if it were to live up to such a description. The lives that we have walked, have been filled with many reasons for gratitude. Surely we choose to honour those that we share our lives with, despite the many challenges. The causes for our efforts also compel us to envision a bigger destiny and a new way to imagine tomorrow. The path to a new dreaming has been through many obstacles and threats. Yet, to enable to old ways to go on is not tolerable when linked to certain scandals that we have heard about.
I pray all of us are cleaned of the problems that have bound us. In wisdom, science and unity, we can find a freedom to create with confidence for our way forward. For any who are lost in our complicated times, for those who have been misled and overwhelmed, I pray a better day ahead. The mess we are in, can at times feel impossible to navigate. It takes strength to hold faith, even as we reflect on our own misunderstanding and overreactions. I pray for a larger design that can align is into harmony and release us from those concerns.
