Holy Spirit guides humanity as we begin to access further the engineering mastery that we refer to as nature. We are encountering a time where our modern technology meets structures of divine resonance and sacred balance. Our minds may be very competent with our current programs or other standardized systems. We use them to get things done in our day-to-day lives, yet we each have only a partial piece of nature’s puzzle in view.
Beyond cultural disparities, social boundaries, and proposed destinations, our human palms hold an infinite creative invitation from Christ. It is a great power that we wield, and it is with modesty and awe that we must remember to fear God so we can truly celebrate this invitation with suitable level of class and elegance. There, in our purest motives, science and art can meet the nexus of joy and meaning.
Everlasting life, can you dare to see it for yourself? It is something we have been trained to dismiss as childish, or an idea just for the ignorant and old fashioned. Perhaps the older generations glimpsed the technological wonders that lay latent within nature more readily than people of our time. Yes, we need to dream beyond the limits of medicine and above surrendering too easily to demise. We may not have all the answers before us today, yet everlasting life denotes a lot of time time. We may need some projects like this to keep us focused together initially.
Everlasting life in our time may seem like a punishment, however as techno-wizards of nature work with our growing access to transcendental levels of scientific understanding, it may seem perfectly natural to see living forever as a fundamental right. Many think it normal that angels don’t die. Others, perhaps, can conceptualize that the One spirit of the universe doesn’t die. Yet, who is to say either of these won’t evolve eventually, or that God may very well surprise us by the scope of his new actions. This is a time to open our minds to such a possibility. It is as good a time as any, and it would be a welcome relief from the apathy of our recent years.
Beyond the bank account, retirement plan, insurance options or other things that keep us differentiated, we can make a space for larger visions. Like the famous proverb says, ‘blessed is he who plants trees under whose shade he will never sit,’ We need to have that kind of long-term benevolent heart between us. With that spirit, and perhaps an update to our faith, we may just find ourselves sitting there together after all. In that mindset we can take control of our paths and also ensure some don’t try to take advantage of the scales that we have neglected to consider.
