Just as the word spirit is related to the air, or the breath, so our connection to the spirit is best understood in the finer senses. As a monk steps deliberately, to catch the action of their posture within their awareness of the moment, they can be seen to walk in calm and effortless poise. Similarly, a restful breath is quiet and rounded within the smooth connection with near silence. A small bird sings a delicate note upon the breeze, and a tiny leaf falls upon the path. It takes a certain vibration of mind to notice these things.
In self-possession of our own presence, our inner sense of being is able to build momentum within the river of our experience. A step removed from the busy distractions of the many tasks of life, or our rushing to meet others’ expectations, inner energy can relate to reality as we integrate the moment.
Cutting through the haze of conditioning, we can more directly perceive layers of existence that are not influenced by the duties of relatively fabricated structures. As our light resonates purely with a different scale of being, we can perceive another kind of truth.
Internally, we grow a grounded core of balance and peacefulness that can function like the eye of a storm within experience. Then as life moves around us, that peace within can hold a bond with finer spaces. Then we can select consciously the shape of our mind as we can become more creative with the focus of our attention.
What is the shape of your mind? Is it a string of words? Is it emotions, and the impressions that fuel them within the imagination? It is said sometimes that small minds think about people, average minds think about events, and great minds consider concepts. Yet, perhaps beyond even the concepts, the mind can take the shape of the moment and allow us to weave a flow within presence. A gentle step towards the consciousness can fill the being with depth and living dimension.
The nervous system can find balance beyond shame, guilt and fear. In a quiet mind, the self-forgiveness work is obsolete. Then the heart can grow nimble and flexible as the stress and shadows of our pain are left behind. Then even our instincts settle into moderation and focus, as we abandon self-soothing old wounds and the cycles of psychological mechanism that we once proudly misapprehended as our ‘personality’.
The old ideas fade into irrelevance as we move into superior levels of wellbeing. This can free up power within our being to actively invigorate our presence for even more passion and faith. Away from fiction, the flow of information is a co-creative dance between you and the other that you find along the path. Refining ourselves can produce new patterns within our presence. Within the objective field of informational potential, our healing and grace to others can smooth resonance for others so they can better navigate their own corrections and enhancements.
